Ferenc Legyek is an Italian – Hungarian artist based in Milan
His works involve the re-use of old wallpaper and fabric catalogues out of production, digital overprinted.
Each artwork is unique, there’s only one piece of a sample for a specific wallpaper or fabric texture used for each subject portrayed. All wallpapers and fabrics are out of production, so no more available.
Vintage and contemporary subjects span from musician, actors, celebs, artists, comic strip characters and villains.
Other subjects may include architecture icons, graphics re- interpreted and many more.
The combination of the background and the image gives the subject a totally new life and a new perspective, sometimes odd, sometimes matching the background, giving a new soul and offering the viewer new food for thought.
Some of the prints also use a material background and particular textures, that gives different viewing effects depending on which angle the light hits the print.
